Our Wine

Our gardens bloom fresh every year as roses adorn the property. Just like the fresh harvest, we break from our tradition of bold age worthy red wines to bring forward a fresh red from last year’s harvest.

Minimally aged in oak (6mo mature oak) and lightly extracted for just seven days on skins, this Grenache is designed to showcase the fresh fruit from our latest harvest. Bright notes of cherry and wild raspberry harmonize with soft spice and dusty tannins showcasing the higher elevation found in the Rattlesnake Hills.

Our 2021 Tempranillo is a throwback to both childhood and local history. As a kid, I was fascinated by steam engines—the kind that roared down the tracks, puffing clouds of steam, and carrying a sense of adventure. Years later, when Samantha and I settled on this farm, we discovered the land’s tie to the same era. The old 924 steam engine, now a beloved piece of living history at the Northwest Railway Museum, once ran right past our property. With that connection in mind, the train found its way onto the label—a nod to the stories of the past and the spark of curiosity that started long before we ever made wine.

Our Tempranillo comes from a Ribera clone at Dineen Vineyards—one of the only plantings of its kind in Washington. The 2021 vintage produced a rich and velvety wine, carrying flavors of dark cherry and cocoa with a Merlot-like ease making it both approachable and memorable.

Our first wines were made with the most basic tools; notably the basket press helped our first Cabernet Franc win numerous awards aided by our extreme ‘hands on approach’. The success our first Franc had put us on the map, gave us recognition in the industry, and has inspired a cult following that lives on to this day. While we have since upgraded slightly to a metal press, we honor our roots recognizing both our first Franc and our first press with this image.

Places of silence allow us to reflect on the important things in life. For us that place is the gazebo in the gardens. Draped in rose vines it provides a place of solitude for sharing private moments with family. The 2019 GSM is unique is character, a banner year for the state and aged for 36mo in French oak, its depth allows for such reflection.

Sourced from Elephant Mountain—one of the highest-elevation vineyards in the Yakima Valley—this wine offers bright acidity and a dynamic flavor profile. Tart cherries, dried balsamic, hints of coffee, and baking spice come together in a structured, food-friendly red.

Our 2019 Dineen Cabernet Sauvignon features the old Chevy truck that still rests beside the vines at Dineen Vineyards in the Yakima Valley. Each harvest trip, we visit the truck, a familiar sight that feels like part of the landscape and we visit our friends at Dineen Vineyards. To us, the truck is a symbol of hard work, history, and the beauty of things build to last. The label pays tribute to the partnership and place that has shaped this wine from the very beginning.

Sourced from Dineen’s hillside blocks, where cooler nights and longer hang times preserve acidity and aromatic precision, this Cabernet balances richness with poise. Layers of dark cherry, tart plum, cedar, and dried herbs are framed by lifted acidity and fine-grained tannins. The higher elevation and slightly cooler exposure lend a brightness that carries through a long finish with subtle spice and wood tones. Elegant and refined, it’s a wine that honors roots—both in the vineyard and in the stories that grow alongside it.

Our Stillwater Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve honors the gentle beauty of a mother cow and her calf, the inspirations for this label. Each harvest, the cows from our neighboring pasture wander over to sample the grapes. Their presence reminds us of what it means to be patient and nurturing—values that mirror our early winemaking days and the intention we pour into each vintage. The label is a tribute to the land, life, and rhythm of this valley.

Sourced from the renowned Royal Slope in Columbia Valley, this Cabernet embodies both power and finesse. Notes of classic, black currant, and blueberry unfold alongside hints of vanilla and graphite. The basalt-rich soils of Stillwater Creek lend the wine depth and structure, while warm tannins carry through to a persistent finish. A cellar-worthy wine with balance and grace.

Our 2019 Konnowac Cabernet Sauvignon carries the grass hive label as a nod to both where our story began and where it continues to grow. Years ago, while serving in the Peace Corps in The Gambia, I learned the art of beekeeping—weaving grass hives and building hand-crafted shelters for honeybees. That memory stayed with me, and today, as we raise bees on our farm, we celebrate the connection and the journey from those first hives in West Africa to the thriving hives that hum beside us now. It’s a tribute to the continued care, patience, and stewardship that guide both our beekeeping and our winemaking.

Sourced from Konnowac Vineyard’s 30-year-old vines, planted in 1989 on well-drained silt loam, this Cabernet is powerful yet elegant. The small, undersized berries yield exceptional depth and concentration producing a wine layered with dark plum jam, black currant, and cocoa that evolve into leather, cedar, and graphite. Dense structured tannins carry through a long finish, balanced by refined oak integration. A true “meditation wine” it’d bold, age-worthy, and a reflection of both place and craft.

Samantha and I met Salsa dancing in 2010. As serendipity had it, Larry who ran Pleasant Hill before our arrival made a Spanish blend called ‘Spanish Dancer’. We can think of no better way to share our love of Spanish varietals, our roots, and dancing then through this wine.

The hemlock tree in the center of our property is ‘larger than life’ giving our property depth and beauty.

Petit Verdot is considered the darkest and richest wine with a similar sense of dimension and presence. Add to this a 100% new French oak barrel, we made 25 cases (300 bottled) for our members to try a unique grape variety that will stand up to any meat dish or stand alone as a rich meditation wine.

​Our Sauvignon Blanc carries with it the calm and beauty of the Snoqualmie Valley’s watersides. When we first moved here, many afternoons were spent walking along the riverbanks with our daughter Avalon, watching Great Blue Herons rise from the marshy fields. Their quiet grace and the stillness of the valley’s landscape felt like the perfect companion to this wine, fresh, alive, and rooted in place. The heron on the label is a nod to those moments of peace and connection with the valley we now call home.

Sourced from the Schmidt Vineyard in the Rattlesnake Hills, the Sauvignon Blanc reflects the friendly 2025 growing season with balance and brightness. Classic notes of fresh-cut grass, tart lime, grapefruit, and a faint saline edge give this wine a refreshing ripe lift. A wine as vibrant and serene as the herons that inspired it.

The Puddle Jumper is our little tribute to the joy of rainy Washington days. Inspired by our daughter Avalon, who can turn any grey afternoon into an adventure with her boots and boundless energy, this wine captures the carefree spirit of splashing through puddles. It’s playful, lighthearted, and a reminder that sometimes the best memories come from life’s simplest moments. The label reflects that joy, and for us, it’s become a celebration of both family and the place we call home.

Made in an Alsatian style, this white blend brings together mostly Riesling with a touch of Pinot Gris from Yakima Valley vineyards. The 2025 vintage was a hot year producing flavors of ripe peach, candied lemon, and wet slate. It’s bright and floral, a perfect off-dry summer sipper, with a little splash of fun in every glass.

Lumber was the genesis of much of the Snoqualmie valley industry. 100 years ago, local saw mills formed the backbone of the Snoqualmie railroad and the foundation for settlement. 

As Chardonnay is unique among white wine in its ability to age in oak, we connected this lightly oaked Chardonnay’s roots to our own community’s roots. Taking on a mix of green apple, lemon rind, and a light vein of vanilla.

The picnic basket celebrates one of our favorite ways to enjoy wine—shared outdoors with good food and good company. Spread across a blanket in the sunshine or gathered around a table with friends, a picnic invites us to slow down and appreciate simple pleasures. The basket serves as a reminder that wine is often at its best when it brings people together, creating moments of connection and conversation.

Fermented and aged entirely in stainless steel, our 2025 Grenache Blanc highlights the bright, refreshing character of the varietal. Crisp orchard fruits and hints of citrus lead into a clean mineral finish, while vibrant acidity keeps the wine lively and balanced. Refreshing yet expressive, it is equally at home alongside a leisurely afternoon meal or enjoyed on its own on a warm day. Like the picnic basket on the label, this wine was made to be shared.
